In 2000, a Dutch baker called Co Meijssen, came to London and found Baker & Spice in Walton Street. He was smitten and asked Yael Mejia to recreate the Baker & Spice spirit and ethic as a new concept in Amsterdam. Co and his family have owned a baking business in the Dutch capital for 100 years. The site he chose was the original shop his grandfather operated as a bakery 100 years ago in Albert Cuypstraat in the centre of Amsterdam.

Foodcraft Solutions worked with this third-generation baker family to set-up and launch a new bread, pastry and cake bakery and shop. Bakken met Passie (Baking with Passion) opened in 2002.
